This is a peafowl block we have been culling for many years. We had a hunt last year but got rained out early. This is a dry stock farm with beef and goats. There were a lot of crested cockatoos in the lower bush block. Declared possum free we still got one and half a dozen last year.
Our last hunt was turkeys on Earl Road. You may ask why 10 days between hunts? Well, I spent six of those days processing 180 pheasants and one day chasing bluefin tuna in Waihau Bay.
