We have been shooting this block for years. Bruce keeps calling to say the birds are back. It is one of those blocks at the core of the habitat. We shoot them out and they just move back in from surrounding areas. I think we were there three times last season alone. 

So the birds were where Bruce said they would be between his place and the neighbour's. They were jumpy but we got most of them. There was a big mob close to the neighbour's and there was activity there, including very vocal dogs. Without direct permission to go there, we had no choice but to leave them alone.

We picked up three more peacocks at the other end of the farm. Jack, 13, took a nice, big peacock with a steady shot from the shooting stick. The next generation of cullers are slowly being trained...
